ICT

Key Stage 3

All students in Year 7-8 follow an ICT course delivered through one lesson per week. Our aim is to develop pupils ICT capability through the teaching of skills and understanding of how ICT is used in all areas of our society. As pupils ICT competence increases they can begin to use this important tool to their advantage throughout the school curriculum.

The ICT curriculum at Key Stage 3 is based on the New National ICT Strategy guidelines. The current scheme of work covers a wide variety of topics that familiarise students with most the applications needed to support their studies and future professional life. Year 9 is now following the Nationals First Award in ICT (Level 2) with 3 lessons per fortnight.
