Design and TechnologyKey Stage 3 All pupils follow a similar course that allows them to experience a wide range of materials and processes in a number of design based situations. The modules taught include Food, Graphics, Textiles, Mechanisms, and Product Design. Each of these modules lasts approximately 6 weeks. Homework is a major part of each module as it allows for a greater extension to be given to the practical nature of the course taught during lesson time. Essential equipment includes: pens, 300 mm rulers, eraser and a range of pencils and coloured pencils. Key Stage 4 Pupils learn about the complex nature of designing, using the focus material i.e. Resistant Materials, Graphic Products, Product Design, Textiles or Food, their properties, using correct tools and relating this to industrial manufacturing techniques, or large scale manufacturing processes. All pupils taking Design and Technology follow one of the following courses:
